KRA was retained to design to the new expansion of the UBC Hospital Sleep Disorder Program in the lower level of the Purdy Pavilion. This opportunity allowed the hospital to merge the sleep clinic and the night lab into a 24/7 program in one new space.
The UBC Hospital Sleep Disorder Program has been running since 1981 and was BC’s only referral centre for complex sleep disorders. The UBC Hospital Sleep Disorders Program was a specialized multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, respirologists, a neurologist, sleep technologists and coordinators and administrative support staff. The Program was previously split into separate parts, the clinic, and the laboratory.
